How to Spend 24 Hours in Paris

The first time I went to Paris was in 2010. We can only stay for a day as we need to catch a train in the evening to go to Zurich but believe it or not, we were able to see most of the famous destinations in the city. I went back in 2013 and again stayed for 24 hours and was able to see Paris in the evening. It was summer when I came back and I didn’t like it. Paris is dusty during summer and there are more tourists. My next trips to Paris though were 3-4 days on solo trips. I keep coming back to this city and I don’t know why.

If you are not staying for a night, you can leave your luggage at the Gare Du Nord Station. They have a luggage storage counter where you can pay for a locker for 6 Euros.

If you are staying for a night only, it is best to book a hotel or hostel near the Gare Du Nord Station, which is what me and my friend did in 2013 so we just walked to the station to catch our train at 6 am. You can check out hotels and hostels through Trip Advisor,,, and AirBnB.

The Gare Du Nord station is the main train station to connect you to the Charles De Gaulle Airport and to other cities in Europe.

So how will you able to see most of the famous landmarks in 24 Hours? Hop on Hop Off Bus!

Hop on Hop off Bus is the most convenient way to explore Paris as you can hop on and hop off to your destination at your own pace with 4 tour itineraries.

  • Enjoy fantastic views of Paris from the open top deck.
  • Individual audio guided commentaries in different languages and story and tales for children – The Phantom of the Opera, Quasimodo The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers available in 3 languages: French, English, and Spanish.
  • 50 bus stops and 4 routes to discover all over Paris: hop on hop off as often as you please.
  • Buses depart every 10 minutes in summer and 30 minutes in winter. The bus stops are easy to find as they have a sign board where you can hop on and hop off. You can show the driver your hop on hop off ticket as you enter the bus.
  • Amusing and practical type of transportation for a comfortable visit within Paris as you won’t have to ride trains. The Paris train system is not very convenient as it is old and dirty. If you have tried the train system in Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong, then you will be very much disappointed with the trains in Paris.

The price of the ticket is 33 Euros which is valid for one day from the time you start the tour. To book your ticket online click the link.

Here are the Top attractions you can see in a day through Hop on Hop Off!

Of course, the Eiffel Tower

The first time I saw the Eiffel Tower, I was on the upper open deck of the hop on hop off bus. I gasped and so did everyone on the bus. It means we’re all seeing the Eiffel for the first time. Everytime I go to Paris, I still pass by the Eiffel. I even spent New Year’s Eve here in 2015.

The Louvre

On a 24 Hour Day Trip, it is not recommended to go inside the Louvre as the tour to the whole museum may take a day.
